We were all stunned -- STUNNED, I TELL YOU! -- when we read that Jim Gilchrist of the Minutemen Project had endorsed Republican presidential wanna-be Mike Huckabee. Today, Michelle Malkin spells it all out -- and it ain't pretty. But then, drag queens usually aren't, are they?
Every Democrat running for president thinks anti-illegal immigration activists are all racists and xenophobes. Do we really need a Republican nominee for president who thinks the same way?A lot of you have asked me who I think might make the best candidate for the Repubs in this critical race for chief executive of our government (cause that's really what the President is -- see: Constitution). The simple answer is "I don't know". I'm still sifting through the information, the backgrounds, the breaking news that reveals a little bit more each day about each of them.Breakout GOP candidate Mike Huckabee, the soft-on-border control former governor of Arkansas, scored a jaw-dropping endorsement Tuesday from Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project. Despite a long gubernatorial record opposing employer sanctions and pushing tax-subsidized illegal alien education benefits, Huckabee won Gilchrist’s support by unveiling a last-minute, tough-sounding homeland security plan.
Trouble is, Huckabee has downright and longstanding contempt for his new bedfellows of convenience.

But I will tell you that haven't yet been favorably impressed with the front runners, the "top tier" as the mainstream media has anointed them. I've been in the presence of Mitt Romney. He's among the elite. His people surround him, creating an impenetrable and perfect bubble around the perfect candidate. My sense is that though he dearly wants his party's nomination, he protects himself because he doesn't want to field the tough questions we all have. In that way, he's insulated, just like Her Royal Pantsuit has (although she has taken it to a fine art).
Rudy? He's a scrapper, a bulldog, but he's left a lot of doggie-do in his wake. Lots of piles of stinky stuff that's still sticking to the heel of his shoe. Is he worthy of the office???
McCain -- forget that! Mr. Amnesty. Mr. Gang of Fourteen. Mr. Maverick all over the freaking political map. Mr. Dependable he ain't. (Mr. Depends, maybe?)
Fred? Fred who? Mr. Day Late and a Dollar Short? He looks and sounds great on videotape, but then, that's his milieu. I don't think the world stage is, however. He's risen to the level of his competence already. It's called Law and Order. Past his prime. Sorry!
Ron "Rabid" Paul? aaargh.... nuff said there, although if you want to know more of why I think he's all wrong for these times, send me an email. We'll "tawk"...
Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo -- honorable men, passionate men. Men who have their best interests in protecting us from the millions of suspects illegally streaming across our open borders (thanks, George). The Debate Bookends that folks dismiss with a wave of the hand as being single issue candidates.
Have I left anyone out? If so, they're incidental to the discussion. Obviously.
So what are we left with? I don't know. But one thing I do know -- for sure. Whoever is left after this campaign marathon -- crosses the finish line, bloodied and battered, is the one I will support. Because when it's all said and done, anyone, ANYONE, ANYONE!!! is better than Hillary in the White House.
Gotta run... More on this later.
