RANCID: HAVING A RANK SMELL OR TASTE

VETS FOR FREEDOM -- a fine group of men -- veterans -- in support of veterans. In support of our country. Men like David Bellavia, Pete Hegseth, Knox Nunnally, Mark Seavey, Joe Dan Worley, and Wade Zirkle. And today they have been dissed. (h/t Michelle Malkin). I reported in April on this site about the support Graham and Lieberman gave Vets for Freedom at its rally on Capitol Hill. In fact, here's the photo I posted:

Now you might say "Oh shoot, it's nothing personal, it's just politics as usual". But I think it's one more indication that John McCain and his pals are spineless, gonad-challenged, driven by the winds of opportunity and politics. Do they think separating from Vets for Freedom will gain them more votes? Perhaps. But they won't be coming from this side of the political divide where we value what Vets for Freedom do. Of course, the folks at Vets for Freedom, gentlemen all, are taking the high road.

"Senators Joseph I. Lieberman and Lindsey Graham, prominent surrogates for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign, stepped down Wednesday from their positions with an independent group that released a pair of Internet advertisements attacking Senator Barack Obama on Iraq. Mr. Lieberman, independent of Connecticut, and Mr. Graham, Republican of South Carolina, were both on the policy advisory board to the organization."

Just one more example of how rancid is the GOP's choice to lead this country. Hold -your- nose, gag-inducing rancid.
